A Deer Park Home Link Specialist facilitates learning for the students enrolled in the Deer Park Home Link program.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Facilitate an educational environment conducive to the learning environment of assigned students.
- Maintains and monitors classroom discipline and uses effective classroom management skills.
- Confers with students, parents or guardians, oversight consultant, and other staff, maintaining an open positive relationship.
- Works with an oversight consultant and parents in implementing class goals.
- Entering student attendance into Home Links Alex computer system
- Attend all required staff meetings and trainings.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated skills in human relations and conflict management.
- Supports techniques that meet the diverse needs of students.
- Demonstrated skill in the use of technology.
- Evidence of ability to develop positive and collaborative relationships with students, staff,
- parents, and the public
- Demonstrated appreciation of and sensitivity to youth and adults of varying socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds, different learning styles, and various disabilities
- Commitment and adherence to confidentiality and other professional standards
Physical Demands/Working Conditions:
- Must be able to perform physical activities such as, but not limited to, lifting, and moving students as required.
- Exposure to various environmental conditions within the school setting.
- Willingness to complete Right Response (or similar) training.

Salary Range: $27.00 per hour.
The contract Year 2024-2025: Part-time working 1-15 hours per week or 1-5 hours per day.
Benefits: Employees anticipated to work more than 630 hours per year will be eligible for Benefits through the School Employees Benefits Board (SEBB) Standard benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, and Long-Term Disability.

Evaluation: This position is evaluated by the building principal.
